HICTA TO CLOSE ORGANIZATION

Aloha HICTA Members

It seems like a lifetime ago when we able to meet in person for our monthly luncheons and enjoy an afternoon of learning.  Since then, Hurricane Douglas spared our islands and COVID-19 has changed everything as we know it.

With that said – this letter is to announce that HICTA in its current capacity is shutting down effective August 31, 2020.  However, a new similar non-profit organization will be forming later in the year to bring fresh new ideas to our IT organizations.  Please be on the look-out for the announcement so we can all see each other again – even if through virtual meetings.

Membership:  We understand that some of you still have some pro-rated time on your annual membership (if you renewed after September 1, 2019) so we are offering a prorated reimbursement to those who respond by no later than August 17th to the email below.  All remaining funds will be donated to non-profit organizations such as the UH and HPU’s IT Departments by way of scholarships.

HICTA was dedicated to the development of Information, Communications, and Technology (ICT) Professionals in the State of Hawaii and to advance the progression of HICTA members across industries.

Our goals were to:

  • ·         Present a forum for information dissemination within the ICT community
  • ·         Encourage professional development of members of the organization
  • ·         Create opportunities for networking amongst members - cultivate interest in the ICT field, including fostering the development of future professionals

I believe that working together throughout the last several years, we accomplished what we set out to achieve.

Please email me directly to receive the prorated refund to your annual membership cost or to answer any questions or concerns you may have at diane.stephens@hawaiiantel.com.

It’s been my absolute pleasure being a part of the HICTA organization and wanted to personally thank the HICTA Board for all their hard work and to all of you, our members who have stayed with us through all the good and bad times.  I look forward to seeing everyone again once the new organization gets up and running again in the “New Norm” J

Be Safe,
Diane Stephens
President HICTA
